These pieces of hand made porcelain animals and figures are individually modelled and hand painted using the same methods that were employed by craftsmen in the creation of original 18th century export china. Each piece is closely inspired by, but is not an identical copy of a surviving antique item. Close attention to all aspects of the production process ensure that de Gournay animals and figures have the same confident detailing and abundant character that make the originals so sought after. We use a simple antiquing process on most pieces to give a soft patina of age. This stops short of trying to make the pieces look like antiques. All items can be ordered with custom changes to their size, colour and design.
