Kips Bay Dallas
In honour of the 2024 edition of the Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse Dallas, de Gournay is pleased to unveil two spectacular rooms that highlight both the brand’s exquisite artistry and unique ability at rendering bespoke wallcoverings.
Installed within an elegant dressing room by designer CeCe Barfield Thompson at this year’s Kips Bay Dallas Show House, ‘Muraqqa Flowers’ is framed with bespoke decorative borders inspired by Renzo Mongiardino.
Each delicately hand-painted Indian wildflower within the design pays homage to the decorative albums of miniature Mughal artworks compiled by Maharajas and their courts. Amidst flitting butterflies, mayflies, and dragonflies, the hand-painted iris, marigold, and delphinium flowers extend over the canopied daybed upon a natural linen.
Rendered in vivid shades of greens, Mediterranean trees such as olive, bay, date palm, and fan palm envelop designer Jan Showers’ lounge at this year’s Kips Bay Dallas Show House in a lush eden.
Inspired by the ancient Roman frescoes now housed in Rome’s Palazzo Massimo Museum, this design, ‘House of Livia’, is hand-painted on a luminous antique gilded Xuan ground with a tarnished metal effect that lends a moody and dramatic atmosphere to the club-like room.
