PINTO x de Gournay

img
For the occasion of the 2025 edition of Maison et Objet In the City, de Gournay is delighted to unveil new hand-painted wallpaper designs created for PINTO – the storied studio founded by Alberto Pinto over 50 years ago, now engaged upon an exciting programme of reinvention under its new president, Fahad Hariri.

Working directly with Fahad Hariri and the studio’s creative director Pietro Scaglione, a pair of motifs depicting decorative interpretations of natural materials and woven motifs offer an engaging insight into the creative coda of the PINTO agency: throughout its interiors and its ‘Mobilier’ and ‘Arts de la Table’ divisions.

‘Woven Trellis’ depicts the interlocking weaves of natural wicker, elevating the premise of hurdle fencing into an ornamental façade spanning two rooms at the studio’s Rue d’Aboukir address – one alongside PINTO’s own furniture collection, a romantic setting showcasing their designs with assorted antiques and artworks, and the other as a backdrop to its collections of porcelain – in a pair of corresponding colourways.

‘La Cabane’ conjures a beautiful trompe l’oeil effect in its rendition of trailing vines and darting swallows amidst an ornate trellised arbour, with the faint delineation of wooden slats on clouded ground vividly suggestive of a mural within a mural. PINTO’s own designs of outdoor furniture complete the vignette.
