– ABOUT THIS DESIGN –
A majestic constellation hand embroidered onto a blue velvet, the celestial spheres are rendered in brilliant metallic threads and beading. Inspired by astronomical depictions of old, from the star-covered ceiling of the interior of the pyramid of Teti at Saqqara, to the azure frescoes reserved for chapel and cathedrals (due to the costly blue pigment) dating from the 1300’s. Our design includes a large variety of star types, each hand embroidered with a different technique.
