– ABOUT THIS DESIGN –
Taking inspiration from Alexandre Benois stage sets for Petrushka designed for the Ballet Russes in 1911, Deco Palms depicts a grove of palm trees. A variety of species are arrayed at differing heights along the panels, fan shaped leaves and feathered fronds are hand embroidered in natural raffia on linen, all atop intricately textured stems to create an airy and earthy contrast to the original gold colourway. This design is a great display of more than 20 techniques, showcasing the wide variety of application possible.
