One of New York City’s most iconic landmarks, Grand Central Station’s distinctive vaulted ceiling has captivated visitors with its brilliantly gilded illustrations of the star atlas since the 1930s. In our enchanting rendition, named ‘Celestial Atlas’, majestic depictions of the constellations such as Orion, Pegasus, Musca Borealis, and Triangulum Majus are entirely rendered in intricate hand-embroidery and hand-beading. Offset against a vivid green painted silk ground custom made to mirror the ceiling’s legendary hue, the signs of the zodiac appear to shimmer in three-dimension amidst clusters of metallic stars.
