Osman Pomegranate Silk Damask
de Gournay’s Osman Pomegranate design is based on ancient Ottoman fabrics held in the Palace Museum, Istanbul. This vertical pattern depicts tulips and pomegranates, rhythmically swinging from left to right on the undulating stalk and bend of each stem. The design is further enhanced with miniature tulips and carnations, both favourite Ottoman motifs, and other naturalistic flowers. The design has a repeat of 652 mm (26”) and it has a panel width of 995 mm (39 3/16”) in which the design repeats four times.
