A PAIR OF 16” CRANES

A pair of famille rose figures of cranes to a late 18th century Chinese export design. Each modelled looking to the left perched with one foot raised over pierced rockwork under mottled green, lavender and pink glazes. The bodies are decorated with bianco-sopra-bianco father markings, highlighted with deep black plumage along the back of the neck and extending down the shoulders to the tail feathers. Their heads mottled brown with black spotting, the same colour extending to the beak and feet.
