TOBACCO LEAF

The original model used by de Gournay is Qianlong period dating from approximately 1780. Each vase is painted in the traditional ‘tobacco leaf’ pattern, comprising a mixture of under-glaze blue and over-glaze enamel over-lapping leaves and flowers in classic famille rose palette. Squirrels and pheasants perched amongst the foliage with burnished gilt work details throughout.
