Octagonal Baluster vase reproduced by de Gournay following an original 18th century Japanese Arita design Japanese mountanious landscape with trees, birds in flight, pagodas and pavilions painted in underglaze blue over a Blanc de Chine glaze. The flat central octagonal panels with a cobalt ground, bordered with bands of key-fret and inset with petal shaped floral cartouches.
