Elle Décor

‘Paris Intrigue’ feature article on de Gournay’s 2019 collaborative project with USA interior designer Alessandra Branca, and the renovations to the private apartment at their Paris showroom on the Rue des Saints-Pères. Inspired by the historic splendour of Catherine the Great’s imperial court, Branca’s designs for wallcoverings, soft furnishings and upholstery showcase de Gournay’s latest techniques in hand embroidery – exquisite techniques applied to a range of damask, velvet, moiré, sheers and wool sateen grounds. The designs ‘Elisavetha’, ‘Flora’, ‘Faux Bois, ‘Floret’, ‘Sarafan’, ‘Lionet’ and ‘Ambra’ showcase an array of bespoke methods used to conjure a resplendent vision of the past within the contemporary setting of the apartment.
