Slub Silk
de Gournay’s slub silk wallcovering is made from 100% silk thread that is specifically chosen for its subtle knotted texture. The slubs in the silk thread occur naturally when silk worms spin cocoons close together. Using this type of thread to weave the silk, that is then paper-backed, creates a wallcovering with a unique nubbly surface. This makes our slub silk superior to a seamless flat painted colour. Slub silk wallcoverings bring a subtle opulence and warmth to an interior, as well as enhancing the acoustics of a room. Our slub silk is also available as a fabric for use as wall upholstery, drapery and soft furnishings. These wallcoverings are sold by the panel; each panel is 1.30 m (51”) wide and available in standard lengths up to 4.6 m (15ft).
