Rives du Bosphore

Byzantine on scenic paper

– ABOUT THIS DESIGN –

Rives du Bosphore is a reproduction of a mural first published by Dufour, Paris sometime before 1812. Both the original title and the designer are unknown. The design shows the palaces and the gardens of the Sultan and the homes of other nobles of Ottoman Constantinople lining both banks of the Bosphorus. de Gournay’s Byzantine colourway is a copy of the colour palette used in the original printing.
