Bamboo

Golden on Edo Green India tea paper

– ABOUT THIS DESIGN –

This design is inspired by the works of Japanese painter and calligrapher Yanagisawa Kien, known for his numerous depictions of bamboo, in particular his finger paintings for which he was famous. A favoured motif within the earliest hand painted scrolls from across the orient, Bamboo had both a practical and spiritual importance as a symbol of virtue and strength.
