Malmaison
Special Colourway on Auguste scenic paper
– ABOUT THIS DESIGN –
Named after Josephine Bonaparte’s famed residence, this dreamy panoramic references the watercolour paintings of Malmaison gardens by Auguste Garneray from the early 19th century. Nestled amongst the verdant woodland are romantic follies - the Temple of Love and the Temple of Friendship - and gently-lapping ponds filled with a bevy of elegant swans. Josephine was reported to have kept black swans in the garden, one of which makes an appearance within the wallpaper design.
