Sans Soucis

Colourway SC-200 on Perfect Green dyed silk

– ABOUT THIS DESIGN –

Sans Soucis offers a luxuriant garden dotted with exotic flowering trees, forming a canopy over luscious vegetation and tropical flowers typical of popular Chinese wallpapers from the 18th century. Much of the inspiration for this design is the Chinese wallpaper from the Wellington Bedroom at Chatsworth, decorated by the 6th Duke of Devonshire at the end of the Regency period. The design incorporates a number of the Cavendish banana plants, successfully grown at Chatsworth after 1829.
