– ABOUT THIS DESIGN –

Chelsea contains outsized tree peonies with voluptuous petals growing amongst a profusion of smaller blossom flowers while jewel-like butterflies dances amongst their branches. The traditional mossy ground has been omitted and there are no birds in this evolution of a traditional Chinoiserie pattern giving it an interestingly contemporary feel. Despite the modern feel of Chelsea, it can trace its roots directly back to the earliest recorded imported Chinese papers at the end of the 17th century.
