– ABOUT THIS DESIGN –

A transportive ode to the majesty of the Ganges, ‘River Scenes of Bengal’ depicts its winding course through India’s spectacular natural landscapes. Inspired by 18th century aquatints and watercolour studies, historic palaces and temples dotted along the banks of the river are interspersed with people engaged in activities and rituals of everyday life in and around the water. Indigenous wildlife and birds, including Elephants and Tigers, inhabit the composition alongside soaring Palms and Musa plants towering above lush grasslands.
