Paul et Virginie is a reproduction of a mural by the same name attributed to Desfossé and manufactured by Dufour, Paris in 1824. The paper is named after the novel by Jacques-Henri Bernadin de Saint-Pierre and records the ill-fated love of Paul and Virginie who grow up in rural Mauritius in touch with the natural world and free from the corrupting influence of civilization.
