– ABOUT THIS DESIGN –
Cupid & Psyche is a reproduction of a mural first published in 1815 by Desfossé, Paris and designed by Merry-Joseph Blondel and Louis Lafitte. The wallpaper illustrates the charming story about the overcoming of obstacles to the love that stands between Cupid and Psyche, ending with the couple’s reunion in marriage. Originally written in the 2nd Century AD by Apuleius the classical story has been retold many times over the years in both poetry and art.
